Researchers have conducted over 100 peer-reviewed studies, involving mothers and newborns from 34 countries, that shed light on the long-term effects of abortion. These studies consistently show that abortion is a risk factor for preterm birth in subsequent pregnancies. The odds of a preterm birth increase with just one abortion, and increase even more for women who have had multiple abortions.
